About

From Many Perspectives, Focus

History

Founded in 2017, this firm is the product of a ranging and varied career with experience seeing what IP can do from many different perspectives. David Groesbeck earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the George Washington University in Washington D.C. He particularly enjoyed his classes in satellite dynamics and rocket propulsion. It is actually rocket science. Because computers are such a powerful and versatile tool, David also learned to write code to solve engineering problems. After graduation he worked as a patent searcher where he was able to spend time physically in the United States Patent Office, working with Patent Examiners using the same software they use themselves. David gained an understanding of how the Office and its Examiners work. He then attended law school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. David was fortunate to join an Am Law 100 firm, Perkins Coie, in Seattle Washington where he worked with some of the finest minds in Intellectual Property in the world. He then had the chance to go in-house with Schlumberger, the largest oilfield services company in Houston, Texas.

This firm marks David's return to private practice after seeing the value of Intellectual Property from so many perspectives. David is now focused on how IP factors into a business' strategy and how that need is different for new start-ups than it is for mature companies. He appreciates the budget pressure companies are under, and he knows how critically important an IP asset can be from an offensive or a defensive standpoint.

David loves what he does. From patent drafting and prosecution to agreement negotiation, he sees puzzles in need of solving. Put David's expertise to work for your business today.
